This film series for the Norwegian Directorate of Health was created as part of the PSA/SSA project (Youth with Problematic or Harmful Sexual Behavior), produced for ung.no and aimed at a youth audience aged 12–18.
The Department for Child and Adolescent Health needed help communicating sensitive topics like “sexuality and the brain” and “excessive masturbation.” The starting point was dense academic material that had to be translated into clear, accessible language — without compromising scientific accuracy. With such a broad age range, tone and content were especially challenging; the films needed to be serious without feeling too adult, and approachable without being childish.
We found the right balance by developing a distinct and consistent visual style that treated the subjects with clarity, respect, and care. The result is a four-part film series that stands out on ung.no — helping to open up difficult conversations with a voice young people can relate to.
